Michael Pope

Mike Pope Principal

My name is Mike Pope, and I am excited to return for my second year as SPMS principal. I grew up in Central Illinois, and have been in education for 19 years. I spent my first 8 years teaching elementary, middle, and high school Physical Education. Over the past 11 years, I have served as an Assistant Principal at both the middle and high school levels. My wife and I have 3 wonderful kids, ages 4, 6, and 8. We enjoy spending time outdoors, usually camping or swimming. If I ever get alone time, I spend as much of it as I can on the golf course. I believe all students have the ability to succeed, and I am eager to watch them grow throughout this school-year.

Keayon Senter

Keayon Senter Assistant Principal

My name is Keayon Senter and I am looking forward to the 2023-24 school year. Born and raised in this community, I have attended elementary, middle and high school here and now have the great opportunity to pour into the students of district 6. My children and I enjoy attending community events, spending time together and experiencing new adventures. I have been in education for over 10 years and my passion includes empowering students through education and social emotional wellness to achieve their own academic and personal success. My educational and professional aspirations have grounded me in Zion to be an example of the opportunities available to those who are from this community and those who look like me. I believe that all students should be made aware of opportunities and experiences beyond the realms of Zion, knowing that they can achieve, accomplish and experience anything they put their mind to.

Mark Neiberg

Mark Neiberg Dean

I am the Dean for SPMS. This will be my 21st year in public education having started out as a 6th grade self-contained teacher in Chicago. During the last 15 years I was an administrator at Waukegan Public Schools. I had a wide ranging experience there having been involved in creating, implementing and training staff in student discipline, Section 504 and student services. Most recently I was a high school administrator being involved in supervising related service personnel and developing a credit recovery, blended learning program. One of the larger initiatives I worked on was developing and creating an implementation plan for the Multi Tiered System of Supports. I work with a great staff at SPMS and am looking forward to the upcoming school year.
